NDE Archive

Overview

NDE Archive is a comprehensive, searchable database of near-death experiences (NDEs) found across the web. Its mission is to help people explore and learn from these accounts, with statistics that show what the data reveals and a simple way for visitors to share their own experience anonymously.

What I did

• A React and Redux Toolkit web app with search and autocomplete, story pages, statistics charts, a blog and an anonymous submission form protected by reCAPTCHA.
• A REST API built with NestJS, TypeORM and MySQL, with JWT authentication.
• Python data tools that import and clean NDE accounts into the database.
• Search-friendly pages for a single-page app: pre-rendering, per-page meta tags and social previews.
• Deployment with Docker and Nginx behind Cloudflare.
